Testimonials:
“John and Kevin, I would like to thank you for all you did for my son Mickey. When you turned him into a defense man last February vacation, I held my breath!! A couple of months last Spring, the summer league, and this past U16 season you coached my son better than anybody could have hoped for. When he failed there was no screaming just controlled correction and the chance to get back out there and try it again. I believe that is why Mickey kept working hard at trying to improve. My son was very fortunate to be accepted into the Conqy family. I do not believe there is a comparable program around, you offer kids a chance to improve their game in a no nonsense way. The level of commitment that the both of you have is unsurpassed.”
“Thank you Kevin and John for coaching my sons and giving them the opportunities that you have given them in the past up to the present. Josh had to write a little something about himself for school today. Let me share part of it……. ” My favorite sport is hockey. Being a Conquistador hockey player is very important to me. My coaches have taught me to always try my hardest, then try harder, don’t quit and never, ever give up on myself. I am learning from them that I don’t have to be the best player on the team, but I do have to always do my best for my team.” ……. So, I think I need to say no more.”
“… I saw Michael take tremendous strides in his development the past 2 years, as I did all of the kids. Maybe some more than others, but nevertheless they all improved. The location and camaraderie was excellent … Last year when we watched Scituate lose in the semi-finals in Worcester, I NEVER in my mind thought he would be skating with these kids the following year, and all the way into the state championship at the Gardens!”
“… Thank you for taking Bobby 3 years ago. He has improved so much over the last few years, especially with his skating. You have done a great job with those kids, and I fully enjoyed watching the games. Bobby always seems to play better with you than any other team that he has played on. … I also could see the respect that Bobby has for you. Thanks again!”
“[we] couldn’t be happier with [our sons] year as a Conquistador. He really enjoys you as a coach, and I do think that he has developed very well during this transition year from forward to defense. The practices you run and your overall coaching demeanor and knowledge of the game have produced some great results. We’ll certainly miss not playing for the Conquistadors next year”
“.…Two years ago we were looking at a kid who didn’t even want to skate anymore. Thanks to you and Kevin, he now tells me he loves hockey (again) the best. You can see the LOVE of the game you and Kevin have and this trickles down to your teams and players. I try to display the same feelings when I coach baseball.”
“Luke was persistent with me about trying out and playing for Conquistadors. When I asked Luke why he wanted to try-out for the Conquistadors, he said, ‘because I want to get better.’ That was the right answer. I’ve seen how you work with the kids – it’s very impressive, and I’m very excited for Luke. I think he will thrive in your program. Thank you!!”
